There is a video footage of concentration camps taken by the Nazis before they were liberated I know this sounds morbid... but I like to learn about history, even when the subject matter covers heinous atrocities like the holocaust. I’ve always been curious about this since the only footage I’ve seen seems to have been taken by the soldiers who liberated the camps (heartbreaking footage of things like the mass graves, piles of shoes, bones in gas chambers, etc) but I feel like this is definitely something the nazis would have documented and while I’m sure they destroyed some evidence of it, I’m doubtful they were able to get rid of all of it. So, does footage like this exist? Where would one who is interested in the history of the holocaust find such films? Woman caught on CCTV admits keying cars in Buckie A woman has admitted keying cars in her Moray hometown of Buckie after footage of the vandalism went viral. Hazel Innes, 44, scratched the side of three cars while out walking her dog. One owner, Shona Coull, caught Innes in the act in January after setting up a CCTV camera outside her home. The video was viewed more than 500,000 times after it was posted online. Innes admitted vandalism at Elgin Sheriff Court. Sentence was deferred for reports. In the surveillance video , the victim is seen talking to a man. The woman tries to walk away and the suspect opens the door to his van. He then grabs the woman by her hair and throws her into his vehicle. According to police, there was another person in the passenger seat, who throws something out the window. The most terrifying thing that happened during the Holocaust was that the Nazis didn't just use gas. They used human lives as guinea pigs in cruel scientific experiments. There are records of attempts to kill people in terrible ways with electricity before they opted for gas because it was easier. In the Belzec concentration camp in Poland, there are accounts of a room with a metal floor. The Nazis would flood the floor with water and force people inside. Then, they would connect a strong electric current that passed through the water and the metal. They stopped because the electric current caused a short circuit in the local power grid. For the Nazis, this was not a moral issue, but a technical one, which they could cover up. Electricity also killed people in concentration camps like Auschwitz. This man was about to jump off a bridge in London when a few strangers began talking him out of it. A truly evocative image taken by Albert Winkler on August 11, 1957, hides a painful story This is the moment of the rescue of the mountaineer Claudio Corti, the only survivor of the Eiger tragedy. Corti and Stefano Longhi began their climb on 3 August 1957, crossing paths with the Germans Günther Nothdurft and Franz Mayer with whom they decided to join forces. On 9 August Longhi was the victim of a fall and was injured, remaining behind waiting for help. Shortly afterwards, Corti is also left behind because he was hit by some falling rocks. The two Germans continue, but die on the descent. On August 11th the spectacular rescue attempt took place: Lionell Terray, the second climber of the North Eiger, was lowered from the summit to reach Corti. The mountaineer manages to place the Italian on his back and climb back up, saving the injured man. Unfortunately, the same cannot be done with Longhi, who loses his life.
