Martin Dumollard - The "Maid killer" Martin Dumollard was a notorious French serial killer who was active in the mid-19th century. He was known for his brutal and sadistic crimes, which included the murder of at least six women and children. Dumollard would offer his victims employment at a chateau in the country, convincing them to follow him to the isolated outskirts of Lyon. Once alone he would viciously attack his victim - strangling then to death before mutilating and dismembering the body. The sad story of Fanny Adams Fanny Adams (30 April 1859 – 24 August 1867) was an English girl who was murdered by solicitor's clerk Frederick Baker in Alton, Hampshire, on 24 August 1867. The murder itself was extraordinarily brutal and received national outcry in the United Kingdom. Fanny was murdered after being abducted by Baker and was brought into a hop garden near her home. She was brutally severed and her body cut into several pieces, with some parts never to have been found.  At the trial the defence argued insanity: Baker's father had been violent, a cousin had been in asylums, his sister had died of a brain fever and he himself had attempted suicide after a love affair. The French Ripper Joseph Vacher was a French serial killer known as "The French Ripper" owing to comparisons to the infamous Jack the Ripper murderer of London, England, in 1888 Born in 1869, Joseph was the fifteenth child of illiterate peasants. Richard Speck Slaughter When Richard Speck entered South Chicago Community Hospital, where he methodically tortured and murdered eight nurses, the state of Chicago changed forever. During the early hours of July 14th, 1966, Speck led the nurses “like lambs to the slaughter” during an attack that lasted five hours.
