Inside The Puzzling Death Of Alexander The Great And The Disturbing Theories Behind It

Inside The Puzzling Death Of Alexander The Great And The Disturbing Theories Behind It After spending several hours drinking with friends in 323 B.C.E., 32-year-old Alexander the Great suddenly came down with a fever and began complaining of sharp pain in his back. Though he continued to drink wine, he struggled to quench his thirst — and before long, he could not move or speak. In a matter of days, the legendary Macedonian king was dead, much to the dismay of his loyal subjects. And millennia later, we still don't know exactly what caused Alexander the Great's demise. In the years since then, historians have suggested everything from typhoid to alcohol poisoning to assassination. But one new theory may be the most convincing yet — and the most disturbing.  In 323 B.C.E., Alexander the Great died of an unknown illness — and his body showed no signs of decomposition for six days. Alexander the Great’s death in 323 B.C.E. has puzzled historians for millennia. The ancient Greeks w...

An x-ray of Serial Killer Albert Fish, who inserted needles up his rectum for sexual pleasure, 1920s

An x-ray of Serial Killer Albert Fish, who inserted needles up his rectum for sexual pleasure, 1920s Despite being a serial killer who is often not talked about, Fish cemented himself as a heinous criminal and an evil bastard in New York during the 1920s when he murdered at least three children. The story of Fish is one surrounded by myth, so I will do my best to tell it as accurately as possible. What we do know for definite is that Fish's family had a history of severe mental disorders and that he grew up in an orphanage where he endured a lot of physical abuse. Out of all the categorised serial killers, Fish seems to be one of the most sadomasochistic killers ever profiled. Sadomasochists are people who receive sexual pleasure from inflicting pain or receiving pain, a sadist and a masochist combined. Fish engaged in these activities to extreme measures, including being spanked with a paddle with pins in it, to literally setting his ass on fire by stuffing cloth in his ...

Dennis Rader: The BTK murderer

When Dennis Rader murdered a family of four in cold blood, he made the children watch as he strangled their parents. Then, he took the 11-year-old girl to the basement where he removed her underwear and hung her from a sewer pipe. He told the girl, "Well, honey, you’re going to be in heaven tonight with the rest of your family."  For 30 years, Boy Scout troop leader and church council president Dennis Rader was secretly the BTK murderer — while looking like the perfect family man to his neighbors in Kansas. Dennis Rader was the president of his church congregation as well as a loving husband and a doting father. Altogether, he seemed to be a reliable and responsible man to all who knew him. But he was leading a double life. She had no idea that for 30 years her father preyed on girls just like her. This is the brutal story of the BTK Killer. Dennis Lynn Rader was born on March 9, 1945, as the oldest of four in Pittsburgh, Kansas. He would grow up in a fairly humble home in Wi...

Robert Pickton, Canadian serial killer who ground his victims into mincemeat. On Feb. 6, 2002, police executed a search warrant at the property for reports of illegal firearms. A total of 200,000 DNA samples and 600,000 exhibits were seized and forensic experts were forced to use heavy equipment to sift through nearly 300,000 cubic metres of soil. Personal items belonging to missing women were found at the farm. On February 22, 2002, Robert Pickton was arrested and charged with two counts of first degree murder in the deaths of Sereena Abotsway and Mona Wilson. Chicago's first serial killer, H. H. Holmes terrorized the Windy City in the late 1800s

"l was born with the devil in me. I could not help the fact that I was a murderer, no more than the poet can help the inspiration to sing." As Chicago's first serial killer, H. H. Holmes terrorized the Windy City in the late 1800s. From opening up a "murder hotel" to selling his victims' body parts on the black  market, Holmes showed no remorse for his heinous crimes. While it remains unknown how many people he murdered in his house of horrors, he once boasted of killing 27 people. However, some estimates claim the actual number may have been as low as 9- or as high as 200. “I was born with the devil in me. I could not help the fact that I was a murderer, no more than the poet can help the inspiration to sing.” This quote was in the confession of Dr. H.H. Holmes when he was caught in 1896. These words are very chilling due to the fact that this man is believed to had killed up to 200 people and not only thinks that he couldn’t help himself but in so...

Excerpt from a letter sent by serial killer Albert Fish to a victim’s mother, November 1934 "First I stripped her naked. How she did kick — bite and scratch. I choked her to death, then cut her in small pieces so I could take my meat to my rooms. Cook and eat it. How sweet and tender her little ass was roasted in the oven. It took me 9 days to eat her entire body. I did not fuck her tho I could of had I wished. She died a virgin” On Sunday June the 3 –1928 I called on you at 406 W 15 St. Brought you pot cheese — strawberries. We had lunch. Grace sat in my lap and kissed me. I made up my mind to eat her. On the pretense of taking her to a party. You said Yes she could go. I took her to an empty house in Westchester I had already picked out. When we got there, I told her to remain outside. She picked wildflowers. I went upstairs and stripped all my clothes off. I knew if I did not I would get her blood on them. When all was ready I went to the window and Called her. Then I hid in a ...

Dennis Rader (Born March 9, 1945), also known as Bind, Torture, Kill (BTK), was a serial killer who terrorized Wichita, Kansas, between 1974 and 1991

Dennis Rader (Born March 9, 1945), also known as Bind, Torture, Kill (BTK), was a serial killer who terrorized Wichita, Kansas, between 1974 and 1991. Rader's crimes were particularly heinous, as he would bind, torture, and kill his victims, often photographing his crimes and sending taunting letters to the media and law enforcement. Rader's nickname, BTK, stood for "Bind, Torture, Kill," which described his modus operandi. Rader was eventually caught in 2005, after sending a floppy disk to the police, which contained metadata that was traced back to him. Rader's early life appeared to be relatively unremarkable. He was born in 1945 in Kansas, and he married his high school sweetheart in 1971. Rader worked as a compliance officer for a security company and was also involved in his local church. However, behind this façade, Rader harbored dark desires and fantasies that he acted out through his crimes. He claimed that he was "addicted" to killing and that...

When his parents noticed that he was strangling himself on occasion, they took him to a doctor who told them that it was just a phase and that he would grow out of it. As a teenager, he threatened a girl with a toy gun in Colorado. Skipping bail, he made his way to New York, where he later spent two years and eight months in Sing Sing prison on robbery charges. Following his release, Glatman moved to Los Angeles and opened up a television repair shop. He took up photography as a hobby, in addition to playing with ropes.
