Parkmann was one of the richest men in Boston, a powerful and mean-spirited landlord. He disappeared one day trying to collect a debt from an second-rate chemistry professor

Parkmann was one of the richest men in Boston, a powerful and mean-spirited landlord. He disappeared one day trying to collect a debt from an second-rate chemistry professor at Harvard named Webster, cousin of Daniel Webster, the famous lawyer. The newly-formed Boston Police Department (formed in 1835, first in the nation) was brought in and the first Detective in America (Derastus Clapp) was on the case. The case was broken when Webster’s assistant/janitor, a man named Littlefield, discovered burned bones on the outhouse. He reported to Clapp who had all the bones collected. Parkmann had been an unusually large man and the bones were of an unusually large man. But that wasn’t proof. So the BPD went to Harvard to ask for a definitive test and they invented Forensic Dentistry, taking molds of the teeth and the police when to his dentist who positively identified them as those of Parkmann. Webster was arrested but loudly proclaimed his innocence. Even his cousin wouldn’t ...

The most hair-raising unsolved murder case in China that I’ve ever known happened in 1996.

The most hair-raising unsolved murder case in China that I’ve ever known happened in 1996. It is a cold-blooded murder, but what makes the case particularly macabra and mysterious is its follow-up. The victim, Diao, was an introverted, quiet girl studying at a university in Nanking 20 years ago. On the night Diao went missing, she was last seen leaving the campus alone. She didn’t tell her classmates where she would go or what she planned to do. A few days later, in the early morning, a street cleaner found on the nearby riverbank a bag stuffed with body remains. Some other bags were found somewhere else. She was brutally murdered and dismembered. It made the headline on local newspaper and Nanking police officers wasted no time in connecting dots to find the diabolic murderer, yet to no avail. CCTV camera was not a thing at that time, and the application of DNA tool in forensics kicked off only around late 80s, investigation still heavily relying on traditional methods. ...

He was sentenced for 1000 year in Jail for the charge of Rape

He was sentenced for 1000 year in Jail for the charge of Rape. This is the worst crime and most disgusting crime some one has ever done. Ariel Castro is probably the worst. He had three women chained up in his basement for 9 years. They were chained up like medieval prisoners. He abused and raped them. One of the girls got pregnant and gave birth to a daughter in that basement and the other two women delivered the baby. Another girl got pregnant several times before that but he kicked her in the stomach to induce a miscarriage (because he didn’t want to have “ugly babies”). It’s so hard for me to fathom Castro's depravity in keeping innocent women as slaves. He tricked each of the women into getting into his car, saying he needed help finding his daughter who was missing. Castro was disgusting. In court, he said that the women wanted to have sex with him. He seemed genuinely confused as to why the world hated him. He w...

At the time Denise let go of James hand and he went running loose in the shopping centre. Jon and Robert saw James running without a parent so they approached him, took him by the hand, and led him away from the shopping centre. It was caught on CCTV on 15:42. the boys took James to a canal a quarter mile away from Denise when she realized her son was missing. One of the boys threw Humbrol paint which they shoplifted back at the shopping center into James eyes. They kicked him, stamped him and beat his body with bricks and stones and stroked his head against a fishplate. To finish him off they placed him onto railway tracks and weighed his head down with a rubble hoping it would kill...

Dennis Nilsen admitted to killing 15 men. He lured these young men, usually teenagers, into staying at his home before suffocating them

Dennis Nilsen admitted to killing 15 men. He lured these young men, usually teenagers, into staying at his home before suffocating them. Now here’s where it gets interesting. After killing these boys, Nilsen KEPT their bodies in his home. For  months  at a time. He washed the bodies, re-dressed them, then posed and propped them wherever he liked. He thought that these bodies were beautiful and he would eat, sleep, and live in his home with them as companionship. When these bodies became too decayed for him to keep any longer, Nilsen would stuff them under his floorboards and eventually burn them in the garden behind his flat. Eventually, the neighbors complained about the smell. Dennis Nilsen was evicted, and forced to move to another place without direct access to a garden. Because of this, Nilsen had no way to burn his bodies. Nilsen, trying desperately to quit his addiction to murder, looked at this as an opportunity for a fresh start. Unfortunately for him ...

On June 23, 1965, Houston patrolmen paid a standard visit to the house of an elderly couple, Fred and Edwina Rogers.

On June 23, 1965, Houston patrolmen paid a standard visit to the house of an elderly couple, Fred and Edwina Rogers. To their surprise, they found the house empty and were probably on their way out when one of them decided to check the fridge. Charles Bullock, one of the patrolmen present that day, recalled the scene: “Opened up a refrigerator and seen nothing but meat stacked in it. My partner standing next to me made the comment that it looked like somebody had butchered a hog. We didn’t know it was a body until we got ready to close the refrigerator and we could see the head down in the bottom of the vegetable bin.” Police investigated and discovered that Fred, 81, and Edwina, 72, had actually been killed a week before they were placed in the refrigerator. Edwina had been brutally beaten and then shot, while Fred had had his head crushed. His insides were later flushed down the toilet. The killer was never found, but the prime suspect was and still is the elderly co...

Mary Bell: The 11-year-old serial killer

Mary Bell: The 11-year-old serial killer In Britain in 1968, 11-year-old Mary Bell strangled two young boys in the span of two months. Bell came from a broken home with a teenage sex worker for a mother and an active criminal for a father. When she and her accomplice Norma Bell (no relation) were arrested by police not long after the second murder, Mary reportedly replied, “That’s all right by me.” During the trial, Norma appeared distraught. Mary, on the other hand, was said to have been defiant, showing zero remorse. Court psychiatrists described her as “intelligent, manipulative, and dangerous.” Norma was found not guilty, while Mary was found guilty of manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility. She served 12 years–briefly escaping prison at one point–and was granted anonymity and a new name upon her release. She gave birth to a daughter, and it was reported in 2009 that she had become a grandmother. The man who almost got away with murd...

The Thames Torso Murders

The Thames Torso Murders are a series of murders that took place between 1873 and 1889. The crimes, largely forgotten and passed over due to the interest in the Jack The Ripper Whitechapel murders of the time, involved the discoveries of the dismembered bodies of eight women. Only one of the victims was ever identified, the person or persons responsible never found. Picture below the Whitehall mystery. The Jack the Ripper murders took place over a 2 -3 month period in 1888. However, the Whitechapel Murders, the generic name under which the crimes now known as the Jack the Ripper murders fall, cover a longer time frame that runs from April 1888 to February 1891. Picture below Ripper victim Anne Chapman. It’s amazing that the Cleveland Torso Murderer is not often talked about. From 1935-38, this unknown killer terrorized the city of Cleveland, targeting those in vulnerable circumstances, and left between 12-20 people dead. Even outsmarted famed lawman Elio...
