The Buck Ruxton "Jigsaw Murders" case

The Buck Ruxton "Jigsaw Murders" case Skull no. 2, photograph B, 1935 Investigators photographed the Skull No. 2 in the same orientation as an existing photograph of Mrs. Ruxton. Then they laid a photo-transparency of this skull over the portrait to establish that the skull was Mrs. Ruxton's. On September 14, 1935, Buck Ruxton, an Indian-born physician who lived in Lancashire, near the English-Scottish border, murdered his wife Isabella and her maid Mary Rogerson, and then mutilated their bodies and scattered the parts, in an effort to make them unidentifiable.  After a passerby discovered some remains under a bridge in Scotland, a team of forensic experts was assembled. Using an array of scientific methods, the experts identified the victims and unmasked the perpetrator. Yet it wasn't just the dead slaves chained to the walls that got their attention, but the living ones, who were only barely alive. One woman was so startled by their entrance that she fled toward a window and jumped.  Most of the victims had been severely maimed by medical experiments. Some were even strapped to tables. In 1981, 20-year-old Cynthia Anderson vanished from her workplace (law firm) in Ohio.

In 1981, 20-year-old Cynthia Anderson vanished from her workplace (law firm) in Ohio. A year before she vanished, someone had painted “I LOVE YOU, CINDY—BY GW” on a wall opposite her workplace. The message remained on the wall for six months before being erased. However, the GW creep rewrote it. Cynthia started receiving anonymous calls, even at the office, and she started having nightmares. Her boss suggested keeping the office doors locked all the time. Cynthia also had a buzzer installed on her desk. Sadly, nothing worked in her favor. At noon on Aug 4, 1981, Cynthia’s boss arrived at the office to find the lights on. He smelled nail polish odor, suggesting Cynthia must have been there. Cynthia vanished without leaving a note, which she used to do earlier. The Haida people were horrified at his actions, but according to Hadwin it was done in protest against the very logging company owned by his family. The logging companies were up to shady stuff at the time and Hadwin figured he needed to do something about it. By this time he had left the island returned home and started to send out a fax to all the local media outlets to claim responsibility for the act in question. He was later a...

In January 2013, Elisa Lam, a 21-year-old Canadian student, set off on a solo trip across the West Coast. The first few days, she regularly contacted family and updated social media. She looked and sounded content. However, things took a turn for the worse on January 26th when Lam arrived in Los Angeles and checked into the Cecil Hotel. Originally, she was supposed to share a room with a few others, but her roommates complained she was behaving oddly, so she was forced to change rooms. Then, on January 31st, Elisa Lam disappeared. Her posts on Facebook and Tumblr abruptly ceased. Her daily calls to her parents stopped without explanation. To speak in cliché, it seemed Lam had fallen off the face of the earth. Initially, there were no clues, no evidence. Hotel staff reported that Lam had been alone that day, but in good spirits. Other than that, nothing. Her face was on fliers across the city and her parents flew out to help the investigation. Soon howe...
