Marcus Wesson Killed Nine Of His Children Because He Wanted To Send Them To Heaven

In Fresno, California lived a man who claimed he was Jesus and the only righteous man alive. He even wrote his own bible.

Marcus Wesson started his chain of abuse with his then 8-year-old niece, Elizabeth. This continued until the age of 14 when she got pregnant and had their first child.

Fast forward into the future, Marcus had married three of his nieces and two of his daughters with a total of 15 children. He convinced them that God’s lineage was running out, that he was the only one given the mandate to ensure God still has children on earth.

On March 12, 2004 the police was called to the family home after onlookers observed what looked like a troubled situation.

Two of the mothers were distraught after they learned Marcus was planning to relocate the kids. Fearing they may never see them again they demanded custody of the boys.

This request irritated Marcus who went inside and executed nine of his children. His logic; it is better for them to be together in heaven than to be separated on earth.

Marcus Wesson Killed Nine Of His Children Because He Wanted To Send Them To Heaven

The date was March 12, 2004. A single day transformed the course of a little community in Fresno, California. Two women, surrounded by friends and family, yelled angrily in the front yard of a tiny house. They sought the freedom of their children. After observing the commotion outside, the neighbors called the police.

When the cops arrived, they assumed it was a routine child custody issue.

The gloomy man with long dreadlocks, on the other hand, stepped back into the house and locked the door.

Marcus with some of the girls

The officers requested that he unlock the door and speak with them. That's when the first gunshot was heard. A barrage of gunfire pierced the air within minutes. The house was surrounded by police. Marcus Wesson, the same gigantic guy covered in blood, strolled calmly outside into the bright sunlight. He was unusually silent as he was arrested and handcuffed.

The Troubling Crime Scene

The authorities were in for a gruesome scene when they discovered nine bodies stacked in one of the rooms in the home. Seven of the nine victims were minors; all of them were under the age of twelve.

Sofina Solorio and Ruby Ortiz were the mothers who urgently called for their children on that terrible day. Marcus Wesson was the man with graying dreadlocks, and those distraught mothers were his nieces.

One of the caskets found in his home

Wesson murdered nine of his children and grandchildren because he believed he was Jesus and that if anyone tried to separate, then "we would all go to heaven."

Even scarier, Marcus Wesson portrayed Jesus Christ as a vampire. He reasoned that they both held the key to eternal existence. In his own bible, he stated, "Drinking blood was the path to immortality." Wesson had also acquired a dozen antique caskets for the family months before the massacre, cementing the Anne Rice lifestyle. He later claimed that the funerary items were used as beds for his children.

The Welson Family

The Wesson family had grown notorious in Fresno, California, as the terrible nature of their past was gradually disclosed.

Marcus Wesson, the family patriarch, was the father/grandfather of all eighteen of his descendants.

The family house where the crime was committed

He had an incestuous relationship with his children, Kiani and Sebhrenah, as well as his nieces, Rosa, Sofina, and Ruby Ortiz. Wesson also married two of his daughters and three of his nieces privately and had a number of offspring from his child marriages.

Ruby Ortiz, one of the nieces, testified that Marcus Wesson began assaulting her when she was eight years old. Wesson, she alleged, told her that the sexual assault was "a father's way of showing affection to his daughter."

Wesson informed Ortiz when she was thirteen that she was of marriageable age and that "God wants man to have more than one wife." "God's people are becoming extinct," he added. We must protect God's children. "We need more children for the Lord." This resulted in Ortiz and Wesson having one child, a baby boy named Aviv.

The Wesson daughters

Kiani Wesson and Rosa Solorio, Marcus Wesson's daughters/nieces, stated that the women in the family were content. "Whatever transpired in the home was by consent and dialogue," they stated. It was entirely voluntary. We were a democratic family... "There was never any rape or coercion."

The females revealed that they conceived through "artificial insemination."

Wesson's sons had a very different experience than his daughters, claiming that their father nurtured them as Seventh-Day Adventists and that "he's the best parent someone could ever have." Serafino Wesson, one of the killer's sons, expressed disbelief, saying, "He appears incredibly threatening... But he's such a kind guy that I can't believe he did it."

The daughters of accused murderer Marcus Wesson, (L-R) Rosie Solorio and Kiani Wesson, talk to the media in front of the court house after Wesson's court appearance March 30, 2004 in Fresno, California.

Because contact between the sexes was discouraged, the Wesson sons were raised apart from their sisters. As a result, the children knew very little about their father and sisters' bizarre lives.

And on that fatal day, when Sofina Solorio and Ruby Ortiz arrived at the Wesson house, they learned that Marcus Wesson was planning to relocate the entire family to Washington State.

Sofina and Ruby hastened to seek custody of their sons, fearful of losing all contact with them, they protested. This pushed Marcus to kill his children because he thought that of instead of being separated, they would rather all go to heaven.

A group of prisoners documented the medical experimentations that German doctors were performing on them.

This photo was taken secretly inside the Ravensbrück concentration camp. A group of prisoners documented the medical experimentations that German doctors were performing on them. Joanna Szydłowska traded her bread to another prisoner for a camera. She was one of 74 Polish women subjected to cruel experiments, including unnecessary surgeries.  Doctors cut open some women's legs and intentionally infected them to try to simulate battlefield wounds. Some of the women were given no medication when they became desperately ill. Ravensbrück was liberated on this day in 1945 after most prisoners had been evacuated from the camp. Some of the experimentation victims testified at trials after the war. The photos they took were part of the evidence. Continue reading  #OTD #OnThisDayinHistory #Holocaust

In the fall of 1944, ten-year-old Thomas Buergenthal found himself all alone in Auschwitz, destined for the gas chamber

In the fall of 1944, ten-year-old Thomas Buergenthal found himself all alone in Auschwitz, destined for the gas chamber. Thomas had already survived the Kielce ghetto and a forced labor camp by the time German authorities deported him and his parents to Auschwitz in August 1944. Typically, children were taken on arrival and murdered in the gas chambers, but, because there was no selection when Thomas and his family arrived there, he managed to survive. His mother was taken to the women's section of the camp, but Thomas and his father remained together. However, Thomas remained in grave danger. The SS guards regularly selected prisoners to be murdered in the gas chambers and as a child Thomas stood out. While he had survived a number of selections by hiding, this time, Thomas had been caught. "They saw me as a child, and they motioned me to go one way, and my father go the other way," Thomas remembered. "And that's the last I saw of ... my father." Thomas and...

Marcia had last been seen by her family in 1980. Although she wasn’t officially reported missing, her family had kept searching for her. The identification was made possible by detailed DNA testing. “In Auschwitz, I never cried, and people around me never cried.”

“In Auschwitz, I never cried, and people around me never cried.” Irene Weiss was just a teenager when she learned to turn off her feelings in order to survive. When a Nazi officer selected Irene to perform forced labor at Auschwitz-Birkenau, it gave her a chance to survive that was denied to her mother and younger siblings, who were murdered upon arrival. She was assigned to a unit responsible for sorting through the stolen personal belongings of Jews. The storage barracks where she worked were next to one of Auschwitz's gas chambers. Irene often saw the faces of those unknowingly headed toward their deaths. Sometimes they would stop and talk to her. Other times, she heard their screams. “When we worked night shifts … this place was close enough to the train platform that you could hear in the night the whistle of the train and then you would hear the humming noise of large crowds. You could hear people in the distance. Within a few minutes or so the large column of young women, mo...
