Five Mexican friends were on their way home after a festival when they disappeared. The last time they were seen alive was by 10:55 pm on August 11.

Days later, on August 22, Investigators found four burned and de*capitated bodies in a building close to an area with a high rate of cartel violence.

Disturbingly, videos and photos that circulated online showed one of the men being forced to saw off the heads of his friends with a knife.

According to a report, the men were lured to the location with a fake job offer. They were given the option of being hitmen for a drug lord, but when they refused, the cartel decided to give them the most sinister punishment they could think of.

Joanna Szydłowska traded her bread to another prisoner for a camera. She was one of 74 Polish women subjected to cruel experiments, including unnecessary surgeries. Doctors cut open some women's legs and intentionally infected them to try to simulate battlefield wounds. Some of the women were given no medication when they became desperately ill. Ravensbrück was liberated on this day in 1945 after most prisoners had been evacuated from the camp. Some of the experimentation victims testified at trials after the war.
