Shoko Asahara/aum shinrikyo
But things began to get serious when he was charged for practicing pharmacy without a liscense, and selling unreregulated drugs.he also began to take big interest in religion around this time, which would play a big role later on
3 years after being arrested, his interest in religion grew to a point where he formed a religion called aum shinsen no kai,and even changed his name to shoko asahara (his birth name was Chizuo Matsumoto).he later changed the religions name to aum shinrikyo in 1987.
The religion believed that shoko asahara was related to god,and he could share power with his followers.he also blamed the british royal family, the dutch, rival japanese religions, freemasons, and jews for starting various conspiracy theories.
Asahara preached that the end was nigh, and that ww3 would happen as nuclear flames engulf the earth.
the “religion” eventually evolved into a cult, and people would often be punished by being boiled alive if they disobey the all mighty asahara.
in the 1990s,the cult got into many trouble with the police, and they even killed a whole family because one of them tried to get legal action against the religion.
in 1995,asahara ordered that his men board several busy tokyo subway trains, and use an umbrella to poke folded newspapers filled with sarin gas, releasing them onto 1,000s of people. This however would be the downfall of aum shinrikyo….
Japanese police were relentless against the cult after this, and eventually raided the HQ,capturing asahara.he was promptly arrested, and sentenced to death by hanging, which occured finally in 2018.
Police found many bio weapon plans, and even a bought soviet helicopter in the raid.the cult planned to overthrow the japanese government and install asahara as the emperor of japan. The helicopter would be used to launch more sarin gas upon innocent people
Aum shinrikyo is now simply called aum and is much more peacefull now. Continue reading
