Eva was born in 1878 , Salisbury, Missouri,She later married and had two Children (a son & daughter) but her husband abandoned the family leaving them destitute ,She relocated herself with her Children couple times with doing some Job to support her family….

Many years later ,she moved to Pima County and worked for an elderly chicken Rancher , Andrew J Mathis as a housekeeper, Andrew had previously served time in prison…

Dugan Became a live-in housekeeper of Andrew J Mathis ,Soon Employer/employee relation ship turned into hate due to Mathis hated her Cooking ,Mathis Fired Eva Dugan from the Job and the next morning on 27 January ,1927 ,Mathis disappeared as did some of his possession his expensive car ,Cash box , Neighbours reported that Dugan has tried to sell some of his possession before she disappeared as well.

Investigation….

The police discovered Eva’s father lives in California,but he refused to share any information related to the identify of Her Children ,Eva kept her Children’s identity secret but somehow police fetched the Identity of her Daughter and address , living in White Plain ,New York……. Before Eva’s arrest,Police investigated the past of Eva , they got to know ,She had married 5 times and all her husband mysteriously disappeared also She Sold Mathis stolen Car for $600 in Kansas City , Missouri.

She was arrested in white plains,when she tried to send a postcard to her father in California, postal clerk recognised her by the postcard initials as he was alerted by police prior ….She was extradited to Arizona to face Car theft Charges …She was Convicted and imprisoned for some years .

Re-trial

Nine months later in October of the same year ,a camper found Mathis decomposed body remains on his Ranch … During the trials Eva tried excuses to escape the Conviction of Mathis Murder ….She even tried to frame a teenage boy Jack,by Claiming in a heated Conversation ,Jack bashed Andrew Mathis hardly and took his life.

….. Lastly at the trials ,she was found guilty of Killing Mathis with an Axe,She was Convicted and sentenced to death by hanging…

Imprisonment..

She desired to pay her Coffin Money ,So she gave interviews to the press $1 each ,and sold embroidered Handkerchiefs ,She also planned to wear a silk dress during her execution but later she dropped an idea and Visited Execution Chamber in regular dress.

Execution…

A day before her execution,rumours rose that she wanted to pre - execute herself by own, during the search of her Cell a raw bottle of Ammonia and three blades were found…

Eva’s Appeal for Clemency on the ground for mental illness was denied ,she was taken to Gallow at 5:00 am ,21 Feburary …..

Decapitated execution… the sentence by hanging was underway ,She step up to 11 Stairs ,She took the position over the Escaping board and noose was fastened over the neck …The lever was pulled and Board escapes down …

…..At the end of the Drop , Snap of the rope decapitated her and sent her head rolling and stopped by a spectator leg ,her heart continued pumping and blood kept on Coming from her severed neck ,after the several minutes of Decapitation,Five witnesses fainted after viewing Grisly scene .

Ravensbrück was liberated on this day in 1945 after most prisoners had been evacuated from the camp. Some of the experimentation victims testified at trials after the war.
