A viral photo showing what is claimed to be "The Bunny Man", 1970

In 1970, there were 2 police reports which were both investigated. Both reports contained details about a man in a bunny costume with an axe threatening

people and in one report, the armed madman even attacked a couple in a car, smashing their windscreen.

These events took place in Fairfax County, Virginia, USA. Both these events were not investigated further due to a lack of evidence. However, there were 50 more reported sightings of the bunny man in wooded or urban areas.

Even newspapers such as the Washington Post reported on the matter. Different headlines include: "Man in Bunny Suit Sought in Fairfax" (October 22, 1970) "The 'Rabbit' Reappears" (0ctober 31, 1970)

"Bunny Man, Strikes Again' (November 1, 1970) "Bunny Man Seen" (November 4, 1970) "Bunny Reports Are Multiplying" (November 6, 1970)

The incidents became an urban legend that varies between areas. Some say the bunny man will attack

random people in the woods and in some stories, he dies and returns as a spirit. Some say the man haunts different bridges in the area and Strikes at couples or lone

travellers. Some say the bunny man abducts people and tortures them. Nonetheless, the story became

exaggerated off what appears to be, real events.

The photo above was proven to be fake, and it was part of an art project, but it was included as it best represented the history of the bunny man and was the most accurate thing I could find online about the case. Continue reading

This photo was taken secretly inside the Ravensbrück concentration camp. A group of prisoners documented the medical experimentations that German doctors were performing on them. Joanna Szydłowska traded her bread to another prisoner for a camera. She was one of 74 Polish women subjected to cruel experiments, including unnecessary surgeries. Doctors cut open some women's legs and intentionally infected them to try to simulate battlefield wounds. Some of the women were given no medication when they became desperately ill. Ravensbrück was liberated on this day in 1945 after most prisoners had been evacuated from the camp. Some of the experimentation victims testified at trials after the war. That same day, her body was examined. It was found that she had suffered serious injuries to her head and neck before being strangled to death about 48 hours before her body was found. Despite many years of hard work by investigators, the identity of the Buckskin Girl remained unknown for over 30 years. On April 9, 2018, the Miami Valley Regional Crime Laboratory announced that they had identified the woman as 21-year-old Marcia Lenore King from Little Rock, Arkansas. Marcia had last been seen by her family in 1980. Although she wasn’t officially reported missing, her family had kept searching for her. The identification was made possible by detailed DNA testing.
