This 19 year old young man is Seth Smith. On June 15th, 2020 Seth was walking home, on his own street, about a mile away and listening to music.
Which is when this man;
Tony Walker, walked up behind Seth, shot him in the head, and said ‘Fuck that White motherfucker’.
(Edit, according to Police reports Walker was annoyed about being questioned about the murder. He was bothered that the police were looking into the murder saying ‘a White boy dies and the whole world stops. Fuck that White mothetfucker. The police had not mentioned the victims race previously. So it was a few weeks later when Walker made his race relates statement, not immediately after. As far as I'm concerned, that just makes it that much more heinous. Clearly he had zero remorse, and was more bothered by the police questioning him than the life he took.)
Seth and Tony had never met each other before that night. Seth never even saw Walker.
Walker later said that he had gone out for air, taking his illegal hand gun with him. He said ‘before I knew it, I shot him.’
Walker was on probation for illegal possession of a gun at the time.
Walker claimed he was “not a violent person.” But his criminal record tells a different story. As an adult, Walker racked up 11 felony convictions, including several for robbery, according to court records. amassed eight findings, 15 convictions, multiple grants of probation, and multiple prison commitments.
He had come up with little reason for the violence, referencing the death of his parents, though his mother died in 1972, and his father in 2007. He also said he was ‘going through a lot’ and felt isolated because of Covid.
With ELEVEN felony convictions, why was he on the street in the first place?
If you ask me, Walker was a ticking time bomb. Covid isolation, an inherently violent and unempathetic man, and racially charged political maneuvering became the perfect recipe for Walker to murder someone, anyone, as long as that someone was White.
Walker was sentenced to 25 years for Voluntary Manslaughter, though no hate crime charges were filed.
When disingenuous people push racial tensions for political gain it is little wonder that incidents such as this happen.
Someone wanted donations, someone wanted go win elections, and for those petty goals a brilliant young man received an ignominious death in the gutter. Continue reading
