The last photo of Travis Victor Alexander shortly before he was brutally murdered by his girlfriend, Jodi Arias.

Alexander was an entrepreneur who met Jodi in California in November 2006, a year later the girl decided to move to Mesa to live with her boyfriend.

Over time, Jodi began to become extremely morbid and possessive towards Alexander, so much so that several friends of the young entrepreneur tried to convince him to leave her because of such suspicious behavior.

Jodi also often secretly took numerous photos of her unaware boyfriend and followed him wherever he went, in a real demonstration of stalking.

On the evening of June 4, 2008, Alexander was massacred with 29 stab wounds, including a clean cut to the jugular and a gunshot to the forehead, Jodi went to work the next morning as if nothing had happened.

Five days later, Alexander's friends discovered his body lying in a pool of blood in the shower.

Jodi was arrested, but she claimed that her boyfriend's murder was in "self-defense" due to domestic violence, but the state of Alexander's body confirmed a completely different version of events.

In the bathroom, on the floor, a reflex camera was found containing photos of Alexander's last moments of life while he was taking a shower, including the shot shown here.

After a series of trials in which Jodi strenuously tried to confirm her version of events, she was charged with first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison on April 13, 2015. Continue reading

Joanna Szydłowska traded her bread to another prisoner for a camera. She was one of 74 Polish women subjected to cruel experiments, including unnecessary surgeries. Doctors cut open some women's legs and intentionally infected them to try to simulate battlefield wounds. Some of the women were given no medication when they became desperately ill. Ravensbrück was liberated on this day in 1945 after most prisoners had been evacuated from the camp. Some of the experimentation victims testified at trials after the war.
