Disturbing interview with 13-year-old Derek Rosa after he stabbed his mother, Irina Garcia, to death in October 2023. He took this selfie after killing his mother, you can see the blood on his hand.

Rosa is being charged as an adult and is being held without bond while he awaits trial.

According to police, he inflicted over 40 stab wounds before he called an online friend and sent the friend three photos, including two of his mother and a selfie of himself.

Upon arrival at the apartment, officers discovered Garcia deceased in her bedroom, next to a crib containing her unharmed newborn.

Derek was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, which means his case will be heard in the adult criminal court system.

In the hours leading up to the tragic incident, Derek Rosa was captured on a doorbell camera video walking in and out of his Hialeah apartment unit. The footage also revealed a conversation between Rosa and his mother, Garcia, where he asked her in Spanish, "Why do you always tell me 'don't run?'". This interaction occurred just hours before the fatal stabbing.

Rosa's case has garnered attention, with a growing support movement called "Justice for Derek". Despite being a minor, Rosa was indicted as an adult and is currently being housed at Metrowest, an adult jail. He is separated from other inmates within a juvenile wing. A judge denied a request for the teen to be housed at the Juvenile Detention Center, where he once lived when he was only facing a second-degree murder charge as a juvenile.

The murder weapon, as described by Rosa, was a "big-sized kitchen knife" with a "purple" handle. The tip of the knife was missing, and it was covered in blood and hair. Joanna Szydłowska traded her bread to another prisoner for a camera. She was one of 74 Polish women subjected to cruel experiments, including unnecessary surgeries. Doctors cut open some women's legs and intentionally infected them to try to simulate battlefield wounds. Some of the women were given no medication when they became desperately ill. Ravensbrück was liberated on this day in 1945 after most prisoners had been evacuated from the camp. Some of the experimentation victims testified at trials after the war. He personally tortured members of the French resistance and was responsible for the deportation of thousands of Jews from German-occupied France. As head of a local office of the Gestapo, the Nazis' political police force, Barbie made a name for himself as the "Butcher of Lyon." In 1944, he learned that 44 Jewish children were being sheltered in a nearby village. He had the children arrested and sent them to Auschwitz. None survived. Years after the war, and after escaping to South America, Barbie was captured and tried for crimes against humanity.
