On 25 February 2020, the body of a 42-year-old American man, Jorge Torres Jr. was found in a suitcase after his then-girlfriend, Sarah Boone, called 911 to report that her boyfriend was d-ead. Boone claimed that she and Torres had a single bottle of wine and then decided to play hide-and-seek. According to her, they both thought it would be funny to put him in the suitcase. Boone claimed she fell asleep after he was locked in the suitcase, and she woke up to discover he was already d-ead. However, there was a history of domestic violence that existed between the two. Torres had been arrested countless times for physically assaulting her. This case was ruled a h-omicide, and she is expected to use the battered woman defense at her trial, which is scheduled to begin in December 2023. On December 6, 2014, a 19-year-old woman, Jessica Chambers was found severely burned in Courtland, Mississippi.
