The two had started to rebuild their relationship following Eugene's death.Valetina had a known history of drinking and working in the sex trade. However, Tina received permission from her social worker to continue visits. Tina really began to withdraw from her caregivers once she was asked to prepare a victim's impact statement about her father's murder. In June of 2014, Tina's aunt gave her $50 dollars and a calling card in case she wanted to return home early, and sent her off on her last visit to Winnipeg. When her aunt and uncle didn't hear from her, they called social services and voluntarily placed Tina in their custody in the hopes that it would help her be found. The last reported sighting of Tina was on August 8th, 2014.

Joanna Szydłowska traded her bread to another prisoner for a camera. She was one of 74 Polish women subjected to cruel experiments, including unnecessary surgeries. Doctors cut open some women's legs and intentionally infected them to try to simulate battlefield wounds. Some of the women were given no medication when they became desperately ill. Ravensbrück was liberated on this day in 1945 after most prisoners had been evacuated from the camp. Some of the experimentation victims testified at trials after the war.
