A 68-year-old Florida mother is facing serious criminal charges after investigators say she intentionally gave her two adult sons excessive amounts of medication in an attempt to kill them. Marilyn Elise Therrell lives in the Kissimmee area of Florida. Her two sons, ages 30 and 32, have severe autism and require significant care and support. On September 8, 2026, deputies were called to a home on Indian Ridge Trail South after receiving a report of a possible drug overdose. When emergency workers arrived, they found Therrell and both of her sons showing signs of medication overdoses. All three were taken to the hospital for treatment. Thankfully, authorities later said all three were expected to survive. But as detectives began investigating what happened inside the home, they started to believe the overdoses may not have been accidental. In 2006, Deputy Jeff Mitchell pulled over a white van. Shortly after, he was found dead, shot with his own gun. A white van was found later that day in a river with two bodies inside. The two had died of carbon monoxide poisoning. Theories suggest the deputy caught someone dumping the pair's bodies. Investigators have suggested multiple explanations for the bizarre circumstances. The pair, 43-year-old Allan Schubert (who owned the van) and 28-year-old Nicole Welch, were known to be meth users. It is thought that they may have been killed accidentally while at a meth house, and someone tried to dispose of their bodies. He was one of several Germans killed by a US military firing squad just outside the town of Braunschweig, Germany in 1945 because he deemed a spy. However two of the spies lined up in the disused quarry were in fact simply members of the Hitler youth, aged just 16 and 17 years old.
