viInes Alcabes was born on April 15, 1916 Demotika, Greece. Ines was Jewish, the daughter of Esther and Nissim. She and her parents moved to Paris, France, when she was very young. She was single and worked as a secretary. She surely had a happy life, until the Nazis invaded in 1940. Sometime in January or February of 1943, she was deported to the Drancy internment camp. Just a little while later, she was deported to Auschwitz (on February 12, 1943). She arrived in the camp a few days later. She did not survive. She was murdered under unknown circumstances in the camp around age twenty-seven. May her memory be a blessing. Her mother was also murdered in Auschwitz.
